FAQ's and Aftercare

🩹 Tattoo Aftercare Guide

1️⃣ First 24 Hours

  • Keep the wrap/bandage on for the first 2–4 hours (unless your artist gives different advice).

  • When removing, wash your hands first, then gently clean the tattoo with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.

  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel — do not rub.

  • Apply a thin layer of aftercare balm or healing ointment (your artist will recommend one).

2️⃣ Days 2–5

  • Wash once or twice daily with gentle soap.

  • Keep applying a thin layer of balm; the key word is thin — suffocating the tattoo can slow healing.

  • Expect light scabbing or peeling — that’s normal. Don’t pick or scratch.

  • Avoid tight clothing that rubs the area.

3️⃣ Days 6–14

  • Continue washing and moisturising.

  • Avoid soaking (no pools, spas, baths, or beaches).

  • Stay out of direct sun and avoid heavy sweating sessions.

  • Itching is part of healing — pat, don’t scratch.

4️⃣ After 2 Weeks

  • Once the skin stops peeling, switch to a good fragrance-free moisturiser daily.

  • Always use SPF 30+ when the tattoo is exposed to sunlight.

  • Keep your tattoo hydrated long-term to maintain vibrancy.

⚠️ Do NOT use:

  • Vaseline or petroleum jelly

  • Perfumed lotions or body oils

  • Alcohol or peroxide-based cleaners

  • Scrubbing cloths or exfoliants

Our shop minimum is $150, covering setup, sterilisation, and the first small tattoo.

Absolutely. We’ll refine it for tattooing — clean lines, correct scale, and proper placement.

Most artists recommend 2–3 weeks between large sessions to allow healing and colour settling.

Avoid all three for at least 2 weeks — sweat, chlorine, and UV are your tattoo’s worst enemies while healing.

Loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. Black or dark colours are best.

Yes — most of our artists are experienced with cover-ups and will advise whether your old piece can be reworked or needs laser first. Touch-ups are available by appointment.

Avoid alcohol or blood-thinning medication (aspirin, ibuprofen) 24 hours before your appointment — they increase bleeding and swelling.

Totally. Peeling skin is part of healing; just keep moisturising and let it fall off naturally.

Yes — we stock professional balms and fragrance-free moisturisers in-shop. Ask your artist when you check out.
